Alkatuff® LL711UV Shines on the World Stage Achieving Diesel Tank Certification in Berlin
Qenos is pleased to announce that its flagship product – Alkatuff® LL711UV – has expanded upon its world-class capabilities by receiving certification for diesel storage. This certification means that Alkatuff® LL711UV not only provides outstanding performance in UV rating, strength and integrity, but can now be offered as the only Australian-made polyethylene certified for the production of rotationally moulded diesel storage tanks.
In accordance with the European Union Regulation for Automotive Fuel Tanks, extensive testing of the Alkatuff® LL711UV Grade was conducted by TÜV Rheinland Group in Berlin. This testing included:
- Cold temperature Impact Testing at -40°C
- Tensile testing of material after exposure to diesel fuel
- Permeation testing at 40°C
- Pressure testing at 53°C
Outstanding results from the rigorous testing process means that Alkatuff® LL711UV is now certified for use in rotationally moulded tanks for the storage of petroleum based diesel fuel containing up to 5 percent biodiesel.
