Creep Resistance
Creep is the term used for the deformation of a material under stress. Creep can significantly affect the performance of a moulding over time. In water tanks creep mostly manifests as “bulging”.
Alkatuff polyethylene produces tanks with excellent creep resistance due to its C6 co-monomer and superior toughness.
Creep is different from one grade to another, and from one temperature to another. The Tank Standard includes creep requirements at 23°C. The Qenos Technical Team has generated creep data at 23°C and 40°C for Alkatuff LL711UV to ensure a product fit for the harsh Australian conditions.
